Fat leather drag line | extra wide

Drag leash for large dogs, from approx. 20kg, without hand loop, made of oiled leather, braided on one side (bleed knot) and hand-tied (broken edges are not sharp and lie better in the hand), brass or stainless steel carabiner. Our leather leashes are lovingly handcrafted from combined tanned leather.

In combined tanning, the leather is pre-tanned with chrome and then finished with a vegetable tanning process to give the leather a special tensile strength and suppleness that cannot be achieved with pure vegetable tanning. Pure vegetable-tanned leather that is dyed also discolours strongly, which is not the case with this towline due to the mixed tanning.

We have decided to include combined tanned leashes in our range because the resources of vegetable-tanned round leather are limited and this mixed tanning is a more environmentally friendly solution than a plastic leash, such as Biothane.

The drag line does not have a hand loop so that the dog does not get caught on branches or similar in the wild. If you want to keep the end of the leash in your hand, a simple knot at the end of the leash will give you a better grip and hold.

The leather comes from European cattle (sourced from slaughterhouses) and is tanned and processed in Europe.
