ORIGIN OF THE WOOLLEN OUTER COVER
The wool from Alpine Stone Sheep comes exclusively from breeders in Bavaria and Baden Württemberg, southern Germany. The sheep are grazing animals who are sheared annually by the shepherd. This means that the wool is only available in limited quantities, and so are our dog blankets. As the coat of Alpine Stone Sheep has to protect them against cold and wet weather, the wool is somewhat rougher than from other sheep. It often remains unused aside from making capes for hunters and shepherds. By buying this dog cushion you support the work of German shepherds.
In sand, on grass, in snow, gravel or asphalt - our woollen blanket is a stylish companion for all dogs who like to be cosy and don't like to lie down on hard surfaces.
As protection from dirt on the sofa, in the car or dog bed, or on the go in a cafe, restaurant or hotel as a cosy place to lie down.
Outer cover: Hand and machine washable at 30ºc. The wool cover can be washed at 30ºc, however as the wool does not absorb odours, simply shaking out any dirt may be sufficient. As the product is handmade and hand sewn, it’s not suitable for tumble dryers.
FOR HEAT & COLD
Wool has thermoregulating properties, which means it warms the dog in winter and cools it in summer. Wool is a natural product and continues to work even after processing the material.
When wool is sufficiently compacted, it has an exceptional ability to repel water.
Wool is an excellent insulator. It is a hydrophilic fibre and can absorb a large amount of moisture, keeping the body dry at all times.
EASY TO CLEAN
Wool repels dirt, dust mites and odours, and does not wrinkle. Its replenishing properties work out dirt and odours by itself. Wool can be washed at low temperatures by hand or in the washing machine. Wool's composition makes it a fibre that is naturally surprisingly resistant to staining, microbial growth and odour inhibition.
